Swish & Swipe | Volume 1 | Emily's first day at school
A Note for Grown-Ups (to read with your child)
PRE ORDERS WILL BE SENT BY 1st JULY 2026
Hello there!
Welcome aboard the School Bus, where rainy days can turn into brave days, and where everyone belongs.
In this story, Emily is starting school for the very first time. That can feel exciting… and a little bit wobbly in your tummy too. Luckily, she meets two giggly windscreen-wiper friends, Swish and Swipe, who help her notice something important: on this bus (and at school), every child is different, and that’s what makes the journey special.
As you read this book and five other volumes together, you’ll meet children who may look, move, speak, learn, or hear in different ways. Some children use helpful tools, like hearing aids. Some children like to talk lots, and some like to listen first. Some children jump right in, and others need a little time.
Swish and Swipe show us how to be great friends by doing simple, powerful things:
• We notice and accept differences
• We ask kind questions
• We listen carefully
• We help someone join in
• We make room for everyone
So, snuggle up, swish away the worries, swipe in some smiles, and remember, being kind is a superpower, and everyone deserves a friendly seat on the bus.
